Tura Adapts: 2020 Commissioning

With all of Tura’s in-person projects postponed for the foreseeable future, Tura is developing new online-delivery content.

Part of that process is the commissioning of new digital work across three programs; @TheRoots, No Borders, and A Different View, to both create new online content, and, in our small way, support new music and sound art practitioners for whom both opportunities to earn and to create have virtually dried up.

Tura drives the evolution of new music and sound art and thus encourages submissions across a broad range of practice which push out the edges and challenge the status quo. Applicants are encouraged to think digital. This is an opportunity to adapt to the isolated space and to create outside of the performer to audience world.

Applications are now open for The Roots (WA) and  No Borders (Australia-wide).

No Borders

A Different View

Tura joins forces with film curator Jack Sargeant to commission a suite of experimental music/sound/video/film collaborations bringing sound and video artists together from around the world. With the works to be stand-alone, and as part of a larger work for online presentation initially, and eventually theatrical release. Jack Sargeant, along with Tura Artistic Director Tos Mahoney, will curate the process across 2020.
