One of Australia’s most influential cult bands and experimental trios return to Perth to play the Rosemount Hotel in June 2017.
Presented by Tura New Music, the trio of Chris Abrahams (piano), Lloyd Swanton (double bass) and Tony Buck (drums) are globally renowned for their unique approach to creating spontaneous music of deceptive simplicity and shimmering beauty.
They have played to rapturous audiences around the world, winning two ARIA and APRA awards, and gaining a following that seamlessly crosses musical genres.
The Necks will perform at the Rosemount Hotel on 11 June as part of their 30th anniversary celebrations.
The bond The Necks share after 29 years of music-making is almost telepathic. Their brand of experimental music slowly unravels in the most mesmerising fashion, frequently underpinned by an insistent deep groove.
With 19 internationally-acclaimed albums to their name, The Necks are musical outsiders and will be the first to tell you that their sound isn’t just jazz, minimalist, ambient or avant-garde.
With special thanks to the Perth Jazz Society.

“Tonal, accessible, and yet profoundly challenging… The Necks are singular… Yielding things no one else does” – THE WIRE
“A performance by The Necks is a kind of religious experience” – THE AUSTRALIAN
