The 2017 Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address will be presented by Kim Williams, whose career as a media executive and composer has seen him head prominent organisations such as Foxtel, Musica Viva Australia, the Sydney Opera House Trust, News Corp Australia (formerly News Limited), and the Australian Film Commission. I wonder as I wander aims to ignite the national conversation around contemporary art music, while connecting the national new music community and broader arts network around the country.
The Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address was established by the New Music Network in 1999, in honour of one of Australia’s great international composers. Each year an outstanding advocate of Australian music delivers the address, challenging the status quo and raising issues of importance in new and experimental music.
Past speakers include Richard Gill OAM, recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey, pianist Michael Kieran Harvey and conductor Simone Young.
This is a FREE event | visit Eventbrite.com.au to register your attendance.
