It’s with great disappointment that the Summers Night Project, due to start on June 10, has been postponed because of the evolving COVID-19 situation in Victoria.
The one-week project was due to bring composition and performance mentors together from around Australia to work with composer mentees for development workshops in Perth. This was to be followed by concert performances in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
A core value of the project is the hands-on exchange of ideas that takes place when artists work closely together, and the evolution that takes place when these works are taken on tour. The current instability around travel and state border closures puts these project outcomes at risk.
We look forward to rescheduling the Summers Night Project at a later date to be decided soon.
Those with tickets to the concert at Melbourne Recital Centre on June 16 will be contacted by the venue for refunds or exchanges. If you have booked tickets for the Perth and Adelaide concerts, no action is required, and we will let you know when we have new dates.
