www.timbrady.ca

"Brady slapped, popped, plucked, chorded and pick-slid through his own composition...displayed his extensive guitar technique, never failing to provide the audience with a new trick. ...A virtuosic performance of captivating improvisations and deep explorations into sound." - ERIC LEHMAN MUSICWORKS MAGAZINE #92 '05

Tim Brady is a composer and guitarist from Canada, known for his radiant orchestrations, dramatic structures and innovative electroacoustic, jazz and free improvisation guitar work. He has been commissioned and performed by numerous ensembles such as the Orchestre symphonique de Montreal and the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, and is currently the president of the Canadian New Music Network.

In January 2004 Tim was awarded the Prix OPUS for "Composer of the Year" by the Conseil québécois de la musique, for the outstanding quality of his work as a creative artist and in November 2006 received the Jan V. ASME XVI National Conference

'Celebrating Musical Communities'

The Australian Society for Music Education '07 National Conference takes place between the 6th - 10th July. The conference will include an outstanding selection of guest presenters such as Prof. Gary McPherson, Prof. Jane Davidson, Prof. Meki Nzewi, Dr Andrew Ford, Dr Richard Letts, John Williamson, composer in residence Iain Grandage and artist residence Carl Vine.

The theme for the ASME 2007 Fortieth Anniversary Conference is 'Celebrating Musical Communities'. This theme reflects the interdependency of music, music education and the broader community. It recognises and rejoices in the richness of musical life in modern society and allows us to bridge traditional gaps. A major Forum will look at the recently completed National Review into School Music and throw light on the current state of the profession and its possible directions. No musical community is excluded, and no national boundaries are given importance.
