Love of the Nightingale

Presented by UWA Perth International Arts Festival and West Australian opera

Based on the 3000-year-old myth of Philomele and Procne, The Love of the Nightingale is an explosive drama about the power of words and the ultimate price of using violence to enforce silence. This Festival centrepiece is a major national collaboration combining the mastery of Australia's foremost opera composer Richard Mills and renowned director Lindy Hume with an outstanding cast.

Paul Grabowsky Quintet

The 2006 Australian Jazz Musician of the Year performs his milestone album Tales of Time and Space. His finest album is an imaginative masterpiece of original works.

Grabowsky has assembled a hand-picked band of the biggest names in Australian jazz, including Scott Tinkler - described by Grabowsky as one of the most distinctive trumpet stylists of his generation - and award winning saxophonist Jamie Oehlers.

The many times and spaces subsumed into this recording produce a here and now that is truly exciting. – RealTime
