In their final Perth concert of 2006, Tetrafide Percussion farewells their tenth year, and gets ready to hit the road again. The last performance before heading off on their first tour in Asia, this will be an event full of fun and bustling with the usual Tetrafide energy. Come and see what the rest of the world is excited about.

Mukti, is a gathering of four enigmatic and exciting musicians that merge Indian, jazz and classical traditions into a captivating sound world. Mukti combines the talents of Glenn Rogers on guitar, Josh Hogan on vibes, Mel Robinson on cello and Vick Ramakrishnan on tabla. A virtuosity of intricate cross rhythms, fast tempos and soft melodies.
This performance is part of the Courtyard Music Program and takes place on the weekend of the annual Bazaar festival at the Fremantle Arts centre

During the week of November 12 -17, pi was in residency in Dwellingup to create a program of new music inspired by the surrounding bush, the diverse timbers and the extensive history of the area. An ensemble with a difference, pi blends classical, jazz, contemporary and world music to create joyful, passionate music evoking the regions of Western Australia music that never fails to stir the soul. Dwellingup resident musician/composer, Alan Lamb, was also invited to participate in the residency, bringing an extensive knowledge of the imported and exotic trees that have been planted in the Dwellingup area.

Arundo Reed Quintet is a dynamic new Perth based reed quintet comprising Alex Millier (clarinet), Philip Everall (bass clarinet), Matthew Styles (saxophone), Leanne Glover (oboe) and Jane Kircher (bassoon). Join them in a musical journey traversing a variety of works and styles.
Fused is a collaboration of three of Perth’s finest instrumentalists: Mark Coughlan (piano), Matthew Styles (saxophone) and Matthew Hoy (cello). Drawing on inspiration from the ethereal minimalism of Arvo Pärt’s Spiegel im Spiegel, Piazzolla’s bold Le Grand Tango and the virtuosic jazz fusion style of Chick Corea’s Spain. Fused presents a cross section of contemporary musical expression from the last fifty years.

Music technology is a three-year degree course at WAAPA for students wishing to combine their music skills with a sound knowledge of music technology.
Graduates may become music producers, creative music programmers, electronic music performers or composers. In addition to core music units, students study conceptual, practical and historic overviews of music technology.
WAAPA provides an exciting environment for study with collaborative opportunities across music genres and in the areas of dance, theatre, film and video.
