Set is a bold, new live performance-based music program featuring the very best of Australia’s vibrant and diverse experimental music scene.
Set showcases a wide range of artists from those pushing the boundaries of jazz, pop and classical composition, to makers of unusual and beautiful new instruments.
Previous episodes have featured The Necks, Francis Plagne and most recently Anthony Pateras. Upcoming shows include appearances by Ernie Althoff, Rod Cooper, Oren Ambarchi, Splinter Orchestra, Hi-God People, The Stasis Duo, Amanda Stewart, Robbie Avenaim, Jim Denley, Peter Blamey, Dale Gorfinkel and Lucas Abela

World renowned percussionists Duo Vertigo, Claire Edwardes and Niels Meliefste, will present solo and duo percussion works commissioned by them from composers around the world. Up and coming young percussionist Claire Edwardes has been based in the Netherlands ever since she won the Sydney Australia Young Performer of the Year in 1999. She has since been awarded the Freedman Fellowship for Classical Music in 2005.

This fantastic initiative coordinated by Rob Curgenven in association with NT Music kicks off in June this year. Tura has acted in an advisory role and Artistic Director Tos Mahoney and Perth composer/performer Ross Bolleter will be attending to present at the Festival Symposium and performances as part of the program. Australian artists at the Fetsival include Philip Samatrzis, Jim Denley, Amanda Stewart, Philip Brophy and a swag of Darwinians….KK Null from Japan is also on the bill for a week of performances, installations, symposia and xtraordinary activities.
