Jo Re Mi

Jo-Re-Mi is a New Music ensemble bridging the gap between unknown territory and familiar sounds. Featuring the original works of young composer/performers Joe Stawarz, Regan Kelly and Mia Brine, this ensemble reflects the shift and combination of classical, jazz and contemporary styles, incorporating percussive grooves and intense minimalistic vocal works.

Jo Re Mi uses varying instrumentation, from percussion septet to choral quartet and a 20 strong group of talented performers from the WA Academy of Performing Arts. Works to be performed include Alternations (Joe Stawarz) a chamber work which focuses on alternating passages between the piano and vocal quartet, The Four Humours (Mia Brine) for vibes, marimba, bongo, singers, strings, guiro and Suite for piano and whistling (Regan Kelly).
