Vexations and Devotions brings together the rich, multi-textured music of Brett Dean - one of Australia’s finest contemporary composers - with the inspirational words of cartoonist/poet Michael Leunig and author Dorothy Porter.
This major new work is a reflection on the nature of good and evil, darkness and light, and our estrangement in an increasingly technologically-driven society. Passionate and profound Vexations and Devotions layers the voices of two choirs with Dean’s potent orchestral language to produce a work of powerful emotional intensity.
West Australian Symphony Orchestra: Matthias Bamert (conductor), WASO chorus, Gondwana Voices.

The Drover's Wives blends dance theatre and live music with video and photography to create an ‘imagining’ fused with the ideas of displacement, location, isolation and occupation. The work is a compelling portrait of endurance and survival against the harshest odds.
