Club Zho 61

A selection of works by student composers from WAAPA at ECU.

Club Zho 61 will feature a variety of chamber works from students of all years, with an emphasis on the voice. For some years now, WAAPA has cultivated a strong school of composition as established by Lindsay Vickery. Cat Hope now holds this position and Club Zho 61 involves the first presentation of her composition students from Certificate IV up to 3rd year Bachelor of Music and Creative Technology. The range of works reflects the strong vocal and composition schools at WAAPA as well as a broad background of instrumentation, from chamber to electronic.

In the program are:

Sarah Stanton 'Discovery' for Voice, Guitar and 'Cello'
Jon Edwards ‘Money War' for chamber ensemble
Mia Brine 'Wa Sagasu' for small choir
Kelly Curran ‘Cnocan Glas’ for piano, congas and cello
Martin Moon 'Bird laughing at the wind' for piano and Xylophone
Joe Stawarz ‘The Flood’ for piano and male voice
Claire Norelli 'Dreams of Troubled Sleep' for soprano and piano.
Gemma Troung ‘The tragic story of Gigo and Rigo’ for guitar, piano, violin, cello and bass guitar.

Also featuring works by Pip Kenworthy, Adam Willett and Andy Copeman.
