Janis Nedela is best known for his book works and an impressive series of one off exhibitions of paintings built around a particular scheme or system of colours and mark making. It is less well appreciated that, from the beginning, his working procedures were inspired by the work and writing of John Cage and the group of artists and musicians around him.
