Under Musical Director Tim White, Defying Gravity presents John Cage’s classic pioneering work Third Construction (1941), which utilizes over fifty different percussion instruments including four sets of tin cans. For these concerts Defying Gravity is joined by WA composer/percussionist Steve Richter to present the World Premiere of his Flirting with Gravity. The program also features Istvan Marta’s percussion classic Dolls House Story, Anders Koppel’s enchanting Toccata for Marimba and Vibraphone, the ravishing sounds of South Sea Island drums and Steve Richter’s Digga and Ragged Around the Edges.
