Presented by Tura New Music, Crossing Roper Bar is an historic three week tour involving the Wagilak Gujarra/Nyilapidgi musicians from Ngukurr in East Arnhem Land and the Australian Art Orchestra, led by internationally acclaimed composer/musician Paul Grabowsky.
The tour is a cross-cultural musical journey through some of Australia’s most stunning settings including the remote communities of Katherine, Kununurra, Warmun, Wangkatjungka, Broome, Djarindjin/Lombadina, Beagle Bay and One Arm Point. Perth performances will be scheduled as a spectacular tour finale.
This project celebrates the beginning of a great partnership between Tura New Music and Total E & P Australia, whose support has been essential to the realisation of one of the most culturally exciting projects of our time.
