Outback Sounds

Following the huge success of the Violins (2001) and Drums (2002) events, the biennial Outback Sounds series has become the cornerstone of Tura New Music's Regional program.

A weekend of international, energetic New Music performances in Western Australia's Mid West, Outback Sounds will next be held in October 2008.

A sunset concert drifts into a performance under the stars with a dramatically lit shearing-shed as its backdrop; interactive sound installations and workshops are scattered around an Outback sheep station; and early morning performances in breathtaking big-rock country.

Adding international-quality performance to the pure majesty of the Mid West, Outback Sounds creates an event of great uniqueness and incredible value.
