Keith Fullerton Whitman / Mike Cooper

April 24 2006

Don’t miss the first Club Zho for 2006 where Keith Fullerton Whitman will perform with avant garde, ear-screeching greatness and Mike Cooper will create an ambience of electronic exotica.

Keith Fullerton Whitman

“Keith Fullerton Whitman makes music that, while perhaps seemingly unobtrusive and calm, literally commands the attention of its listeners with fully inviting core song structures and enough subtleties to make turning it off seem, at the least, a very unpleasant option.” Ian Drellinger, Indie Workshop

Mike Cooper

“Mike Cooper is a difficult artist to situate, straddling as he does several radically different musical spheres. There is the singer-songwriter of the 1960s working in a traditional folk-blues vein, there is the free-improvising maverick of the 70s, producing genre-defying free-folk-jazz and then there is the most recent phase of Cooper's career, producing idiosyncratic modern exotica combining his passions for Hawaiian lap-steel guitar with field recordings, dusty record loops and forays into drone and noise.” Jonathan Dean
